Looking at this place as we pulled in made me wonder if we made a good decision...it's in an area near the airport which is not very fancy. However, when we entered the lobby, it looked fine. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Our room was clean and adequately furnished, as was our bathroom. Because of the unusually cold weather I tried to turn the heat on in our room, but was told that the entire hotel "turns off" automatically. (maybe starting May 1?) A staff person did bring me an extra blanket which was very nice and is something to be remembered for future bookings...the breakfast was good, with the usual Italian fare-cereals, tortes, fresh fruits and cold cuts. If we needed to stay close to the airport again, we would stay here.

I stayed here the first time I ever went to Florence (I am catching up with my late reviews) and I was sorely disappointed with the surroundings. You expect Florence to be this postcard place and it is when you arrive at a place like this that you realize it is not all postcards. This is far from the center and not convenient at all, unless you are driving through Italy and you can't afford or don't want to pay the Florence congestion charge or pricey parking fees in the center. I would say the only positive aspect about this hotel is the parking. The hotel itself is outdated, depressing and expensive for what it is. Stay here only if you need to.
Me and my partner stayed in the Florence in October we had a great time, the maid came to clean our room every morning and if you were still in bed she would come back while you were out at breakfast, there was always someone cleaning the hotel, the staff were friendly and the fact you could hire things and book day trips through reception was great, yes it's not 5* but it's clean, friendly and provides everything you need.
