Hotel Desiree - Florence, Italy     

We were pleased to arrive to find the hotel so close to the train station which made us closeby to the main sites in Florence and it was easy for daytrips out of Florence. The reception and room itself was slightly disappointing. It was traditional decor but the bathroom was fairly run down with leaking taps and toliet. Having seen into a couple of the rooms there were nicer ones than ours so it might be worth asking to move if you get the room with the very noisy toilet flushing system! Otherwise, staff were helpful and there was a nice breakfast room with a reasonable selection. We paid what we thought was a fairly high rate for an average hotel but didn't by any means ruin a fantastic break in florence.
