Conveniently located near railway station (5-10 min walk). Friendly receptionists. Good breakfast. Fair room with newly refurbished bathroom. Noisy room towards the street. Ask for one facing the back yard.
Hotel Golf - an unpleasant stay Posted: Fri, Nov 30 2007 Our group of 5 stayed at the Hotel Golf in Florence, near the Termini. My daughter's room, # 107 I believe , had severe mosquito problems which the hotel staff failed to address. Instead they gave her a can of Raid (which made the room uninhabitable for several hours).
It was obvious this was not a new problem since there were squished mosquitos all over the walls. We were very disappointed in the hotel's attitude - no compensation and no room change. My daughter had severe welts over her torso and limbs.
I booked this hotel after reading the reviews on the trip advisor which were not bad at all......but I was really disappointed with my decision of choosing this property. The room floor was filthy & the shower of the bathroom did not function properly....My husband requested them to change the room which they did but that was even worst!! The breakfast room is really small and the breakfast served was very average.....
The only advantage was the hotel's close proximity to the station.....My sincere advise to all the travellers, pls think twice before getting this hotel booked.
Having private parking facility was a bonus for this hotel. Acceptable continental style breakfast but the hotel would benefit from having better public areas, especially a bar or coffee lounge where one could sit and talk after a busy day in Florence. A bar facility existed but was not open in the evenings we were there. A mixed school party made the breakfast a noisy but pleasant event.
