There do not appear to be many hotels in Guadalajara, however the Alcarrira beckoned as although it was on the N320/A2 junction it was also close enough to walk into town once settled. We paid a walk in rate of €58 per twin room, and thought it was about right - however once we had paid (up-front), we found the rooms were tired, the bathroom furniture old, and the a/c didn't work. While we could do do little about the condition of the room, we complained about the a/c, but the non-english speaking receptionist indicated it was turned off, throughout the hotel and not available !! Opening a window did not help as we were next the autovia junction, and the noise was just too loud. We had also hoped for parking, but were directed to a space outside the hotel in the road (cul-de-sac). Fortunatly our motorbikes fitted in the gaps, but clearly any more than half a dozen cars would have rendered it full. It was not a good experience for the money paid, and we would not stay again. Incidentally, it was rated as three-star. On a positive note, there was free internet in reception, and a 24 hour petrol station opposite for snacks & drinks.
