we arrived back from our holiday at the neesebar bay hotel a few weeks ago. A few weeks before we went i found this website and started reading the reviews on here - mostly bad i may add - and was dreading going. Anyway it was booked and paid for so we had no choice. But i can honestly say we had a great holiday. The hotel was spotlessly clean - cleaners cleaned around the clock. There was a big mix of nationalities but this did not cause us any problem at all - in fact it was nice not to be surrounded by all british. It was true the majority of germans & russians have no manners and dont know the meaning of queuing but that happens wherever you go. The food was good and no-way did it cater for the germans - there was lots of bulgarian dishes. It did get a little repetitive the second week but we have found that with all the all inclusive holidays we have been on when you eat in the same restuarant 3 times a day for 2 weeks. What was good was the eating area outside the restuarant under a canopy - we sat out there most nights to eat. The staff overall were very friendly & the animation team were the best we've ever seen - they were absolutely fabulous with the kids and worked long hours trying to entertain. One of the only downsides was probably the lack of entertainment on a night which maybe could be improved upon. The location of the hotel for us was superb. We like to walk and quite a few times walked from the hotel into nessebar old town( which is a must to visit) which took us about 30 minutes and from there we could also walk along a promenade to the top of sunny beach. Turn left out of the hotel and you could walk to a small place called Ravda which took about 20 minutes and has loads of little shops & restuarants. We have found very few all inclusive hotels where you are able to walk more than 5 minutes down the road. The young generation of bulgarians speak very good english it only seems to be the older generation who struggle with their english so communication was not a problem. People should realise that bulgaria is still an up and coming country so should not go with extremely high expectations and since they are paying around half of the price they would pay to go to say greece, spain etc I dont see how they can complain about paths been broken or building work going on. Yes there is a lot of buildings going up but this caused no problems whatsoever. What is a plus point for anyone who likes to go on the beach is how warm the sea is. The hotel beach was ok but 5-10 minutes walk turning right out of the hotel was a really nice beach - well worth going to. Overall we had a great holiday and was glad we didnt try and cancel due to reading the terrible reviews. We definately plan to re-visit bulgaria again in the near future and would stay in this hotel again.

the kids club great , clean very clean hotel room very spacious, BUT; receptionists do not speak english hardly at all, the food is ok but very repetative with the odd change here and there eating out will be required as most of the food is geared to the german guests SAT TV only if you speak german ( 1 english channel bbc world news) there are no radios in the rooms or any where else. ENTERTAINMENT there is entertainment for the children until 9pm but for adults the only entertainment there is looking for it(we never found it) GENERAL this hotel is realy out in the middle of nowhere so to go anywhere you have to use the bus (one every 40 mins) cheap or you can use the hotel taxi's (14lv to nessebar 20lv to sunny beach) but getting back you will have to use the local taxi's (40 -50lv) if you haggle. there is a small beach near the hotel but you must pay for sun beds(6lv each)and umberella(6lv) there is a disco next to the hotel entry free but you must pay for drinks. the majority of people who use this hotel are german , russian and bulgarian 98%
