Hotel Anna - Budapest, Hungary 

The hotel is overall okay but has many annoying problems: - bad breakfast served on dirty dishes (on our first day, there was not much edible food available. Our second breakfast was better thanks to freshly made omelettes). Saucers were not clean, they still had the predecessors' coffee stains. Trays had sticky handles (probably honey or jam from many generations of previous guests). - parking is very difficult due to a narrow driveway; turning is impossible. - prices are quoted in Euros by the hotel and credit cards can be used, but the hotel will only accept Forint. They use an extortionate exchange rate, about 4.3 percent above the interbank exchange rate. So, if using a EUR credit card, expect to pay about 5 to 7 percent more than the quoted EUR price (4.3 percent to the hotel for EUR-Forint conversion and another 1.5 to 2.5 percent to your credit card company for Forint-EUR conversion). - wifi is free but works only in the lobby, it did not work in our room. - furniture is stupidly arranged: in our room, there was plenty of space, but the beds were placed in such a way that the bathroom door could only be opened halfway. This gives a feeling of crampedness although there is plenty of space.

We stayed five nights at Hotel Anna and found it a really pleasant experience. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and it was nice to be able to eat breakfast in the courtyard. The location was pretty central, close to metro station and tram stops, but in a quiet side street so that it was quiet at night. Staff were friendly and helpful. I would not hesitate to book another visit there.
