Hotel Matinlahti - Espoo, Finland 

We stayed for four days in late June. We stayed in two rooms because the first room was really loud. It wasn't the neighboring rooms, it was the seagulls! We were on the top floor and over what could be described as a courtyard/driveway area. All day and night the seagulls were practically screaming. All day and all night. They agreed to move us and the new room was much better. It was on the first floor on the other side of the building. There were tall trees right nearby so it inhibited the seagulls from flying right by our window over and over. ***If you go in June, mention the birds when they assign a room. Do not accept the top floor!! The room was basic. (Our first room had a show, but the drain was quite slow...) It cost us just over $100 a night, so what can one expect? The breakfast buffet was quite good and free and available for over 3 hours. Their dinner menu was incredibly expensive. I think it is there for people who have a corporate credit card, not tourists! The staff was helpful and pleasant. They had ONE computer for internet access and it was almost always occupied. (Hint: check it out if have an early breakfast.)

This was a decent hotel. The rooms were not 'white glove' clean and the maids did a poor job on the 'daily' cleaning of the room & bathroom. The hotel is in a beautiful area and within walking distance from a lake w/ beach volleyball, playground and other water activities. The breakfast buffet (inc. w/ room price) was very good and nice variety of items to choose from.
