Location
Our hotel is situated on the outskirts of the Old Town, beside the River Elbe. In the springtime you can take a trip along the cycle path next to the river to Pillnitz and Saxonian "Switzerland", or travel to Meißen. A city river tour with the Saxonian steamship is also very pleasant.

Stayed for 4 nights a week or so ago.
Very conveniently placed - a short walk into the old town and a walk over the bridge to the Neustadt.
Staff were pleasant. Did not try the restaurant, but the breakfast was well above average - a very wide choice of pretty much whatever you want. Breakfast room was also attractive with a nicely landscaped area surrounded by trees if you want to eat it outside.
Our bedroom (a standard double) was large, clean and comfortable. Decor was neutral and rather lacked character (fine if you're one of those people who likes beige). Great views of the old city from the windows.
Worth getting a room on one of the higher floors in order to avoid the traffic noise from the major road down below (we were on the 7th and it wasn't really a problem).
Dresden is gradually demolishing the various eyesores which were thrown up in the centre in the 1950, 60s and 70s. Unfortunately this hotel is one of the worst, but at least you can't see it from your room.
All in all a perfectly decent place to stay if you're in town.

Just spent 2 nights here and what a lovely hotel, ok it looks like a 1960's block of flats from the outside, but inside the rooms are modern ,spacious a nice bathroom with power shower, lovely white linen and fluffy towels. The breakfast buffet is superb hot and cold the best we had whilst in our stay in Germany, you can sit indoors or out. A lovely smiling young barman in the bar. This hotel is not the cheapest at 109 euros for a double rm with breakfast, but the location is excellent near to the river and a ten minute walk max into the old town. There is not a car park but the street and the carpark at the side of the hotel only charges 3 euros per 24hrs. Ask for a room on a higher floor facing the old town and you won't be disappointed with the view!
