Local attractions include:

- The Steen castle: Situated right at the entrance of the city centre, it was probably built in the 13th century and is therefore considered as one of the oldest buildings in Antwerp. The castle has endured numerous renovations and was utilized first as a fort, then as prison and afterwards as an Archeological Museum. The National Navigation Museum has been housed here since 1952.

- Antwerp Cathedral: Built on the foundations of a Romanesque church, it is considered to be one of the most beautiful Gothic buildings in Europe. It is also one of the highest buildings in Antwerp.

- Open-Air Statuary Museum: Consisting of a 4km park that is littered with over 300 sculptures, created by artists such as Emile-Antoine Bourdelle, Auguste Rodin, Aristide Maillol, Ossip Zadkine and Giacomo Manzu.

The hotel is 10 minutes from the city centre with it's numerous restaurants, bars and museums, 7 minutes away from the central station and just 50 metres away from a tram stop.

On our final bill, two drinks were charged which we definitively had not consumed. Long discussion about 9 euros. After 10 minutes, the man at the reception managed to find a check without any signature on it. Finally, a girl from the bar came arguing intensively in Vlams (we were using English). We did not understand the details, but the essence was quite rude. Unacceptable service. Convenient rooms, could be refreshed. The hotel is close to the Single concert hall. That’s a point. The only one.

The hotel is a typical businessman's hotel. Room was clean and uncluttered, but bland. There is parking at the hotel, but it is a chargeable extra. I parked my car out on the main road for free. I did not have breakfast at the hotel, as I was travelling on my own budget. The hotel is next to the ring road on the south side of the city, and therefore away from the old town area. If you are visiting Antwerp on leisure, I would suggest staying in the old town area. Antwerp is famous for its old town area, with its many cafes and restaurants, and cobbled stoned roads and laneways.
