Esperanca Centro Hotel - Setubal, Portugal 

Hotel location excellent, beach, ferry, and town centre all within walking distance. Staff not particularly friendly but ok. Room ok, hotel in general could do with bringing up to date, especially due to new hotels being built just a ferry ride away where the beaches are really good, sea obviously still cold though lol. We found meals etc a lot cheaper in Setubal compared with Estoril/Sintra area

I stayed here with my fiancée in February 2006 for the weekend. It was a great hotel, very clean and well equipped etc. Rooms very spacious and had good air conditioning (although not really needed in February) It was quiet and obviously off season in the town (Setubal), but I liked the peaceful relaxed atmosphere. The drive to Lisbon took about 30 mins, but was really nice and scenic across Europe’s longest bridge. The staff were very helpful and knew a lot about the local area Parking was free overnight and on Sunday outside the hotel The location of the Hotel was in the heart of the town of Setubal and felt very safe to wander around in the evenings The breakfast was nice, a whole buffet selection of cereal, pastries, fruit, juices and even hot food too. The best part is the location of the free breakfast. It's in the "Panoramic Room" and it had a great view out to the harbour and the scenic cobbled streets I think this hotel was very good and I got a great price for the room, so would definitely recommend it and stay there again if I visit Lisbon in the future.
