Tillmouth Park Country House Hotel - Berwick-Upon-Tweed, United Kingdom     

The hotel is set in beautiful surroundings and there are some lovely rooms but the standard rooms are in the gods and are a bit small. We saw the number of stairs that had to be managed (no warning on web site) and we felt we caouldn't didn't want to cope so decided to cancel our stay. We had lunch and the staff were absolutely wonderful; couldn't have been more helpful phoning round for alternative accomodation. If you want a country hotel with nice food and pleasant service and you don't mind doing a bit of climbing this could be for you.

We have stayed here for the last 4 years at least once a year. We got engaged there last July and we are taking our wedding and our family to our special place this August to celebrate our marriage. We take our daughter with us, they provide a wonderful granny who babysits for us. We take her in the dining room and everyone chats to her and no one moans. They will cook meals for her that aren't on the menu. The staff are so wonderfully friendly and do their best and then some. They truly go out of their way to help in every possible way. It's relaxing, very comfortable, like home from home but someone pampering you. I can't recommend the hotel enough. Be daring and try it you won't be disappointed.
