I stayed at this hotel for three nights in order to attend a conference nearby. This hotel is not worth its 3 stars at all. On day one, the water in the bath and basin came out dark brown and yellow later turning to green. The porter was sent up to look at it. A very young fellow came up and said the pipes in the hotel were terrible so just keep the water running for an hour! The waitress that served us a very expensive and badly cooked 'French style' meal in the Mortimer restaurant was poorly trained and snatched the menu away without even asking us if we wanted any wine so we didn't bother. My wife's chair was also close to collapse. From 8am until 5.30pm each day I had loud drilling on the walls and bathroom ceiling of my room, workmen appeared to be doing something to the fire system. This is totally unacceptable during the summer months. On the last night there was a loud party going on somewhere inside with hoardes of screaming girls until midnight. My booking also said I had a room with a 'city view'. This view turned out to be the void between the surrounding corridors and rooms and was full of stagnant rainwater and there was no view at all except for the walls. All in all, this hotel is poorly decorated and in need of urgent works and better trained staff. Possibly one of the poorest value hotels I have ever stayed in. Naturally I shall be writing to the MD of Forestdale hotels to complain.

I was in Bournemouth on business for a few days and my company booked me into this hotel. The hotel is a 20 minute walk from the town centre in a poor part of the town. There seemed to be a lot of vagrants walking around in the area carrying bags of cheap booze. The hotel itself is in need of a refurb - the decor is tired, dirty and worn out. My room was very cold as the heating didn't work and one of the windows didn't close fully. The bedding was clean but well worn. I ate in the hotel on both mornings and evenings, the cooked breakfast was very poor - very low grade food and small quantities. Dinner was not much better - french cuisine cooked very badly. There is wifi, but at a cost of ?10 per 24 hours, which is rip-off as most hotels have free wifi these days I would not stay at this hotel again..
