My husband and I and a friend stayed one night at Ringwood Hall and were well pleased with food and accommodation. I accompanied him on a last minute business trip while my friend drove down for a short get together. We were offered a great rate for dinner, bed and breakfast. Although the website stated booking would be in the Garden Rooms, we were upgraded to beautiful newly furnished feature rooms in the Bothy Lodge which is a short walk from the main hall. Both rooms were spacious with all new fittings and decor. The dinner menu offered enough choice and the breakfast was more than adequate. The weather was warm and sunny so we availed ourselves of the many outdoor seating areas and enjoyed the well tended flower displays. My husband used the pool and said the leisure facility was fine. My friend and I plan on booking again for a weekend away next fall to include use of the on site spa studio. All in all, a good trip.

We stayed only one night for a wedding here. Plenty of free parking and reception was very friendly. As this is a grade II listed building, they do not have a lift. This can be a problem if you have mobility problems. Our room was the furthest from reception. We went up a flight of stairs, along several small and windy corridors, then down stairs, then up a few more. Although it was signposted with room numbers, it seemed very indirect. We found it quicker to walk around the building than try going through it after that. There was also no bell boy to help with bags. There seemed to be newer rooms at the back of the hotel. We were there. The room size was adequate with comfy bed, TV, tea/coffee facilities & trouser press. No fridge or mini-bar. I saw a room service but we didnt need it. The bathroom had a shower in the bath and a dreaded shower curtain. The bedroom looked reasonably clean, but had a damp smell to it. The bathroom mirror is behind the large sink which makes getting close for makeup almost impossible. The dressing table in the main room didnt have very good lighting. As we were on the ground floor overlooking the outdoor dining area, I didnt have the curtains all open as people were freely walking past & could look in. If the room lighting had been better, this woudlnt have been a problem. The wedding was held in the grounds in a lovely decorated pergola with views down the valley. A very pretty location.I seemed well organised with all staff being friendly and helpful. IThe reception was held in a large entertainment room, presumably the older part of the hotel. The carpets were tired and dated and in some sections coming up which was dangerous. The food was tasty and adequate, but not exeptional. At middnight the large room was closed and those left could drink in the bar area. 2 liquors cost ?5.20. Good value from our London perspective. The groom told us that corkage for their wine was ?8.99 per bottle though! Our stay included breakfast served between 7:30 & 9:30. A buffet style full english. Toasts, cereals, fruits, beans, mushrooms, sausages, black pudding, juices, tomatoes and various egg options. Staff were rather brisk to clear food away at 9:30 exactly, despite people still eating. Checkout was quick and trouble free. We didnt use the internet or spa facilities. Another guest complained that the air conditioned in her room had a very noisy fan that couldn't be switched off. I found our room chilly at night, but there was a heater.Although some areas looked tired & in need of updating, I would stay there again & recommend it for a wedding or a stay if in the area.
