After reading one of the negetive reviews on this hotel, I was almost put off booking the Albright Hussey Manor but I am extremely glad I went with my instinct & booked a very enjoyable & memorable long weekend there. My partner & I were met in the car park & our rather heavy bags carried to our room. We were warmly welcomed with a large glass of sherry at reception & shown to our very well equipped & spacious room. The room was situated in the old manor house & was very clean & comfortable with beautiful views of the well maintained gardens and the pretty moat which was home to a couple of Black Swans and ducks. The bathroom was well stocked with delicious smelling Molton Brown products & the jacuzzi was very appreciated after a long drive! We took advantage of the beautiful weather & had drinks on the patio over looking the moat before dinner. Dinner was excellent with a professional but not rushed service. Try the souffle!! The staff are extremely polite & helpful with nothing being too much trouble & willing to go that extra mile (my partner asked for soya milk, but was told that they did not have any but if we could wait 20 minutes they would have some! Now that's good customer service! I think that someone must of gone to the local shop on our behalf). We met the owner who gave us the impressive history of the hotel & it was clear of his passion & ambition that has achieved an award winning hotel and restaurant. We have no hesitation in recommending this superb hotel & we hope to return soon. Thank you,

We have just returned from a two night stay at the hotel. We stayed in the old part of the hotel, the rooms well appointed, full of character and very well prepared for our arrival. Overall the hotel is very clean and charming. We had friends staying in the newer part of the hotel and generally they were not as impressed with the size and quality of rooms. All of us felt the rooms were overpriced for the location, size and service experience received. Customer service was poor, certainly not the level most would expect. There are a couple of outstanding and genuine members of staff however there are also some that just didn't understand what service was about. Actual phases they used when asked for help were "but that’s not my problem", "if I happen to see the manager I will let him know you want to see him". That was a real disappointment when other staff did do whatever they could to make our stay outstanding. It seemed to us the hotel has lost its way and some staff were rather unhappy about being there! The service at best is what you would expect in a bad 2 star hotel. Never have we experienced such lazy attitudes and rudeness. I talked with the manager and although he was very professional and understanding we didn't see any remedy or much change for the rest of our stay. We will not recommend this hotel to anyone due to the poor levels of service from some staff. It does have the ingredients to be superb but it needs help, particularly in the way it is managed. Currently it just does not live up to its promises and is too unpredictable.
