Arriving in Venice and very lost, the staff at Hotel Canaletto were very helpful in providing clear instructions on how to find them. A great impression from the start! Very warm and friendly indeed.
The hotel itself is located half way between the Rialto Bridge and San Marco square. 5 mins either way. Importantly the walk to San Marco is only 1 or 2 turns, so very easy to remember how to get back! Especially at night after great wine!
Our room would have to be described as elegant and almost decadent. It felt the most 'classical Italian' of all the Italy hotels we stayed at. Certainly very clean too. It had a great window but no balcony. The bed was fantastic. Fridge, TV etc.
The breakfast was my favorite!
Highly recommended.

Just returned from a most enjoyable weekend in Venice. The Hotel surpassed our expectations, situated in the heart of Venice 2 minutes from St Marks Square and four minutes from the Rialto Bridge, yet in a quiet square. We found the staff very welcoming, friendly and willing to help . The rooms were nicely decorated, mini bar, the sheets were clean, the water was hot, the plumbing worked, clean towels everyday, air conditioning worked, and the beds were comfy. The continental breakfast was very good and again the staff only too willing to replenish your drink and food. Although the Hotel is only 'bed and breakfast' they have a separate restaurant situated next to the Rialto Bridge so that you can watch the world go by on land and water. In addition to its fine food there is a discount on the cost upon proof of residence at the Hotel. Bearing in mind Venice is very expensive 'every little bit helps'.
In answer to the next question yes we would go back to stay at the Canaletto and would recommend it to anyone wishing to visit Venice.
