. We went for a 10 day break to Rome to take in a bit of history. Well we were positively delighted with our hotel. On first impressions it looks very old but once inside it was a little treasure. On arrival at reception we were given room 32 on the top floor. This room proved to be a bit difficult for us in the 98 degree heat so we asked if they could move us. Ground floor here we come - room 13. Delightfully cool. The staff at this hotel were fantastic from the lovely Andrea and Nadine on reception to the lovely lad downstairs in the breakfast room -- nothing was too much trouble. The hot water in the shower was always hot, the towels white and fluffy were changed every single day, and the beds were changed every other day. I must say the standard of cleanliness in this hotel was outstanding and i would certainly recommend anyone to stay here. Now Rome is oustanding as a tourist destination and you dont have to spend a fortune there either. We found the restaurants to be very reasonable. Around the Colosseum beware though as the gladiators are very quick to take your camera and take a picture and then have the cheek to charge you five euros for the priviledge.. All in all this holiday was truly amazing from the wonderful hotel to the marvellous sites. Thoroughly recommended for both. We stayed in Rome for ten days from 16th June - 26th June 2008

I stayed here with a friend over the Easter weekend and thought the hotel was really nice. The rooms are a good size, although the twin beds are really close together (but most European hotels tend to be like that). The staff were friendly and helpful when we struggled with our basic Italian, and allowed early check-in on the day we arrived and let us leave our luggage there on the day we checked out so we could do some last-minute sight-seeing. Continental breakfast was included in our rate and it was really tasty, a good selection. The only thing I'd say is that the location was a bit quiet for me. It was about a 5 minute walk from the nearest subway station (Manzoni), although I think you can also take a bus or tram from Rome's main Termini Station. There were a handful of restaurants in the surrounding streets but not much choice. However, I have to add that many shops etc were closed because it was Easter, so it might be a bit livelier at other times.
