We just returned from an 8 day stay at the Hotel Europa in Florence. The best part of the hotel was the family who runs it. They were so helpful with everything, from restaurant suggestions to booking museum visits and tours. We were greeted with a smile and wonderful coffee, cappuccino and croissants each morning at breakfast, which is included. They even gave us a gift when we left, and I have never had that happen before! The location of the hotel is perfect. It is right in the center of town, all of the main attractions of Florence are within walking distance, such as museums, churches, and shopping. After a week in an apartment in Rome, the amenities of the Hotel Europa were a welcome change. The air conditioning worked fabulously! The hotel is kept very clean, and the maid service each day was very nice. Also, unlike many European hotels, there is an elevator, which is convenient for all of your luggage, and your tired legs after a long day of walking! The price of this hotel is very reasonable, especially for how nice it is! We would highly recommend it, and would stay there again if we returned to Florence

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Europa the first week of June 2008 for 4 days and loved every minute of it. It was a short walk from the train station but it was a little difficult wheeling our luggage on the streets. Upon arrival, we were a little confused and could not find the front desk due to the construcion. There was a construcion worked that told us it was one more floor up, so up we went. The hosts were absolutely wonderful and very helpful in every way. I can not say enough kind words about how well and respected we were treated. We were shown to our Superior Room which was great. Very clean and spacious. We loved the Tuscan decor and tile floors. The bathroom was spacious and they have best hairdryers then any other hotel we stayed in during our trip to Italy. The air conditioning worked great, almost too good, it did get a little too chilly in the room during the night. Nothing a little adjusting couldn't fix. Breakfast was included in the price and was just perfect to get our day of sightseeing going. It was a buffet style that included croissants, cereal, bread, ham, cheese, yogurt, etc. The location was just perfect, we were able to walk everywhere with no problems at all. Only 5 min. to the Duomo, 15 min. to the Uffizi and Arno. We e-mailed the hotel prior to our visit to make reservations for us at the Academia and they sure came through, thank you again for all your help. I highly recommend the Hotel Europa, its well maintained, great value and excellenet service. We would definitely stay here again. On our departure, Gassim called us a taxi, which arrived in like 2 min. and even helped bring our luggage to the taxi. He was just too helpful. I do have to mention, if your looking for a great place for dinner, Aqua Al 2 was fantastic. We just happened to stumble upon it and what a great find. The food was outsanding and the wine was superb. Make reservations or go early, this place got packed.
