My sister and I have just come back from a 3 night stay at the Hotel Regente. The best thing about the hotel was the location. It is right off the Gran Via and very close to a metro stop – we however walked everywhere and most places of interest were accessible if you don’t mind the walk. We had a twin room that even though was small was cleaned and tidied every day. The beds were comfortable and the room was of the right temperature without having to use the aircon. Like many other reviews I have read of the hotel the only real complaint would be the noise levels. I can sleep through most things but had to purchase some ear plugs (tapones in Spanish if you are reading this and want to buy some out there!). The walls are paper thin so you can hear people next door. Our room was opposite the lift so we could also hear people pulling suitcases and coming to bed etc etc. We were happy to get up and get going but after about 8am you have little chance of uninterrupted sleep. The area directly outside the hotel is also quite noisy but I think you would get that whoever you stayed in Madrid, Breakfast was included with our room rate and was off a very good standard but was the same every day. Overall a decent hotel that was spotlessly clean, tidy and in a great location making it fantastic value for money as well.
