Hotel Weber Ambassador - Capri, Italy     

We have just stayed for 5 nights (starting 12 July). We are a family of 4 and had 2 superior double rooms. The views from the hotel were fantastic and I would say the hotel is probably the best situated on the island. The pick up service from Marina Grande worked fine (3 euros each to be picked up and transported up and over to the other side of the island). The hotel is at Marina Piccola and is situated on the quiet side of the island about a 2 minute walk (at most) from the beach (which is pebbly (as are all the beaches on Capri). The reception staff made us feel welcome the whole time and they helped to really make the place special. The rooms are fine and typically European. The view from the balcony of our hotel, where we played cards in the evening, was terrific. The water is incredibly clear. We took googles to look at the marine life. The hotel pool is small but fine for cooling off. A new one is being built behind the hotel. The breakfast buffet was very good and had everything you could want to eat. The shuttle service up to Capri (free of charge and runs every 10 minutes and takes about 5 minutes) worked well on all occasions. We hired a boat from Capri Boats by the wharf at Marina Grande and drove ourselves around the island. Dinner at the restaurant in Capri town linked to the hotel was fine. We would certainly recommend the hotel and are still eating the bag of sweets they gace our children.
