Quality Hotel Ostersund - Ostersund, Sweden 

Finding the hotel was a breeze. Central location, close to trains and buses. Having booked a room with a cot (was traveling with wife and our one year old) I was a bit miffed when the room only contained a double bed and a sofa (probably a fold out), but no cot. A quick call to reception brought the cot up in ten minutes - this should not be necessary when booking such things in advance. The room was very nice. Nice beds, flat screen TV (only Swedish channels though), clean bathroom but no minibar (to chill beverages we hung them out the window). Wi-Fi is available and a connection is made with a pin-code you get in reception. A very weak connection, and as a result surfing or checking e-mail can take some time. Breakfast was on the small side: very small selection of cold cuts and no fried eggs. A big plus for a nice omelette. The small area for the breakfast items results in a huge pile-up of people if more than seven-eight people are getting thing at the same time. On the Saturday there was live music in the hotel bar/restaurant. This resultet in little or no sleep until 2am, and judging from the comments other guests made around the breakfast table this was audible and distrubing through most of the hotel. Our room was directly above the restuarant, which I find just plain bad service. When checking in a family group, specially one with small children, a room away from noisy bar/restaurant-area should be found. Most staff was very plesant and very helpful, but I was again abit miffed when checking out and the individual behind the counter did not even ask if I'd had a pleasant stay or wish our speedy return. Note: As of 31st March this hotel switches from Quality Hotel Ostersund to Scandic Ostersund City.
