Four Points Sheraton Bolzano Bozen - Bolzano, Italy 

This is a good choice for a stopover if you're on your way north or south, as we were. The rooms are a bit small, but are tastefully decorated and the bed is very comfortable. Our room overlooked the car park and the traffic was generally a bit noisy in the morning, so we knew we had arrived in Italy! The breakfast buffet was good, there was just one small issue with a cranky waiter who didn't want us to sit at a particular table, which was set for four people, but he did apologise (which was a good idea because his colleague had showed us to that table just a moment earlier). The pool is beautiful. It is not very big but it was empty when we got there. There is also a sun terrace and just look at that view! One problem: there are no complimentary bathrobes in the rooms, they cost eight euros per person to rent. I find this a bit strange but, after some probing, I discovered that they are available free-of-charge to SPG members. Once I was able to prove my SPG membership, the bathrobes were delivered to the room. So, if you are an SPG member, it might be a good idea to order bathrobes prior to your arrival to avoid being inconvenienced. Parking may cost extra. We found a space in a public parking area across the street. Problem solved, but just another small inconvenience. Q. Why don't luxury hotels offer complimentary parking as a guest convenience? A. They do: try the Four Points in Dornbirn for example!

My husband and I stayed one night at this fantastic hotel on our way to Verona. The hotel is very modern, the room is spacious, the beds are very comfortable, fluffy down blankets and pillows are excellent for a good night sleep. The room and bathroom are very neat and clean. Breakfast is good with lots of choices, the personnel are friendly and helpful. We will definitely come here again in the future.
