Hotel-Restaurant Schmachtenbergshof details: Originally built as a farmhouse in 1726, our house has been a family property since then. It has been modernised intensively and was steadily transformed from a former farmhouse into what is now a comfortable hotel and restaurant.

Start your day off with an extensive and varied breakfast in the morning. Relax in the evening in our hotel-own tavern with a glass of wine from our wine cellar or a fresh draught beer.
On request and depending on availability, the hotel also offers an in-house massage service. For your sportive activities there is a bowling alley at our guests’ disposal.

For conferences and meetings with more than 10 participants we provide a conference room with recent conference technology and flip chart, overhead projector and screen.

The fair trade centre of Essen is approx. 10 km away, the fair trade centre in Duesseldorf approx. 25 km. Both fairgrounds can easily be reached via motorway.

In direct proximity of the hotel you will find the lake “Baldeneysee” and the "Villa Huegel". The protected World Heritage Site “Zeche Zollverein” is also easily accessible from here (15 km).
