Grand Hotel Majestic - Florence, Italy 

We have just returned from a 5 day and 4 night stay at the Grand Hotel Majestic in Florence. The hotel is ideally located near the centre of Florence, 5 mins walk away from the cathedral, and very close to a reasonably priced supermarket. We had two double rooms on the first floor, these were very spacious, had large comfy beds, a useful safe in each room, satellite tv. The adjoining bathrooms were also well equipped with free hair dryers and bath/showers. On the whole the hotel was a very good deal for the small amount we paid. The cleanliess was somewhat doubtful when we found a dirty toilet on the day we arrived, a splatter mark up the side of our bedroom wall, and stains on the carpets. The staff were quite abrupt and unfrienly but nonetheless helpful to us. Our stay included a buffet breakfast which I can only describe as excellent, there was a good variety of continental foods, cereals and fruit juices, tea, coffee. All in all you get what you pay for and this was a very good deal.
