Stayed 2 nights at the Fitzwilton hotel. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. It is well located in terms of easy access to the quay and straight walk down o'connell st which is opposite the hotel to the main shopping area. The hotel is modern and has an attractive chic bar which unfortunately on the Thursday night was deserted at 10.30pm. The room was good with both a double and single bed. Only criticism of the bathroom is that the shower is over the bath rather than a walk in shower however everything worked well. The room was warm and similar to other guests if you open the window the hotel fronts onto a busy thoroughfare which is very noisy at peak times. The breakfast was fairly typical in term of cereal, toast, yoghurt and hot food buffet. I think it's always nice to be able to order an individual hot dish eg poached egg on toast but that is the only criticism. We did not eat in the restaurant having read mixed reviews however we were recommended by a local a french restaurant "bodega"on john's street which is about 15 mins walk away and it was excellent both by way of food and atmosphere. It is very busy so booking is recommended although I was able to book that day for that evening. In summary this is a good modern hotel with pleasant staff which I would stay in again.

Stayed her for a wknd. Lovely rooms and in a great central location, everything within walking distance. Only problems was there was very little parking and no leisure facilities. As we were leaving we saw a huge sign for their new lesiure centre opening the following year! Food wasn't bad but we got no veg with our meal which was strange. Might be worth another visit!
