Carlton Redcastle Hotel - Moville, Ireland 

we got a great price on a 2 night stay including dinner and while the hotel, rooms and staff were great we had one of the worst meals we had ever been served. some food was burned while the dessert was still frozen. a number of other guests we spoke to had similar experiences with frozen prawns and cheesecake being among the top offenders. at 39 euros per person for dinner with several supplements of up to 10 euros each in addition we had expected great food. the only recompense we were offered was the removal of supplement charges. needless to say the experience spoiled our break and left us searching the local area for alternatives on our second night.

Myself and my wife went for a short break to Redcastle with our one year old daughter. I have to say it is a gem worth visiting. The staff were extremely friendly and even during a busy breakfast staff took time out to ensure that we were ok and if we required any additional items for the child. The rooms are well adapted for families. The location and scenery is fantastic but the friendliness of the staff made our stay. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend this gem of a hotel.
