3Approaching Parnell Square from the airport you come through some fairly run down areas and it seems miles from the likes of Grafton Street etc. However Parnell Square which has a tortuous one way system is in fact very central and the location is the best thing about this hotel. It is at the top of O'Connell Street and almost opposite the Gate Theatre, but only ten minutes walk to Temple Bar etc. There is some parking to the back of the hotel which was very helpful. The hotel isn't in its first youth but having said that the rooms were clean and bright. The receptionist was polite and helpful and our rooms were sorted very quickly. The lift was a godsend as we were on the fourth floor. There are plasma tv screens. There was plenty of hot water although it ran a little patchily.
There is a big sitting room and bar on the ground floor to which has lots of information leaflets about Dublin. The restaurant is downstairs and whilst we went out for our evening meal so can't comment on the dining room, the breakfast was good and filling and served at breathtaking speed!
All in all would recommend, largely for central location. It isn't a bargain but represents reasonable value.
