1I stayed at the Leeson Inn Downtown last night and i have to say i never felt so duped by a website. The pictures show nice looking spacious rooms however this is not the case. My girlfriend arrived before me and was told there was no reservation at all. Only after I called them again to confirm did they give her a room. I'm also certain the girl I talked to the second time was the one who took the booking in the first place. Anyway she (my girlfriend) called me back to say the room was tiny, the heating wasn't working and the window wouldn't close properly so she had asked to just cancel the booking all together but was told no even though what we got clearly was not what was advertised. Instead she was moved to another room (204, 4 flights of stairs, the only one i personally was in) where again no heating, window wouldn't close properly and the shower had a serious mildew issue brewing. The extractor fan in the toilet didn't work and periodically made a loud buzzing sound when switched on. There was only about a 2 feet of room at the sides of the bed and 3 feet at the foot, no bedside lockers and the hotel information booklet was hidden on top of the smallest wardrobe i've ever seen. The car parking facilities advertised consist of a small yard at the back with room for only 2 cars to park without blocking someone else in. The security on this carpark are 2 sheets of plywood with a small padlock on them. Also no ironing board was available contrary to website although I don't think there would have been room to set it up anyway. We had to iron our stuff on the floor. When we returned to the hotel that night we found someone asleep in the corridor outside our room. We had to step over him to gain access to our room. It was a wet night and at about 4.30 in the morning water started leaking through the ceiling and we were woken up to the sound of the dripping. Now I don't know what your opinion of this would be but i was dumbfounded. When I looked at it in the morning the ceiling was stained which led me to believe that we weren't the first poor unfortunates to experience this. We didn't bother reporting any of this at the time as the general impression we got from the receptionist was she just didn't care. When we went to check out in the morning I got the feeling she was not one bit surprised to hear our grievances and her replies seemed a little to rehearsed to be genuine. So to sum up this place would be a particularly bad doss house and doesn't deserve to listed as an inn, hotel or whatever they want to call it. Don't stay there.
