City Gate address: Bazilijonų Str. 3, Vilnius, 2000

City Gate details: Ideally located in the picturesque Old Town of Vilnius, close to the City Gates, this warm, hospitable hotel is ideal for tourists and businessmen who require a host of facilities.
Guests can enjoy all modern amenities, such as free wireless internet connection, and can make use of the hotel’s 2 conference halls and stylish and comfortable internal courtyard.

The fully-renewed hotel is housed in late 19th century buildings which, according to some historical sources, were used as a kind of ‘wayside inn’ 100 years ago, with guest rooms, an inn, a brewer, several manufacturers and stables.

The 2 well-appointed, ventilated and bright conference halls can accommodate 12 and 50 guests and are ideal for business meetings, seminars, training courses and other events. Included in the hire price of the halls are a board, 2 markers, suspended screen, projector for slides, TV and video recorder.
For an additional price, guests can make use of a multimedia projector, PC, Internet and/or telephone line and printer.

I stayed here on my East Europe tour in May 2007. What I could tell is that the hotel have made a really good impression. I stayed in a nice and spacious room on the third floor. Hotel staff seemed to be attentive and always open for a small chat, furthermore receptionist did a great job and gave valuable information about the city. The restaurant is stylish and the breakfast is above average. It's also worth mentioning that they offer some free of charge services for hotel guests - cable TV, wireless internet connection, safe deposit box, secure parking. It's only 5 minutes walk to the City hall of Vilnius, bus and railway stations are also close! This hotel with it's location, right understanding of the hospitability term and the price is definitely hard to beat!

I stayed in this hotel the middle of September based upon 3 things: the reviews on this site, the location, and the price. First this hotel was very good about answering e-mails and making the reservation. This hotel offered to send transportation to pick me up at the airportd which I accepted. The hotel did have an elevator for which I was grateful. The halls were in awful shape with lots of marks on the walls and the carpet was disgusting. My room was clean, but just average (which I expected in this category of hotel.) The restaurant is still closed so I had to walk about 6 blocks to find a snack for dinner. In the morning I awoke to numerous bug bites (about 2 dozen mostly on my legs and lower torso) on my body--so I assume this hotel has bed bugs now. The breakfast was a buffet which was just ok. I could hardly get out of this place fast enough. When I went to pay my bill, I was charged 20 Euros, not 20 litas (3.45 litas to the euro) which every guide to Lithuania said to expect was the average charge from the airport to downtown which meant I was charged way too much. This was my own fault because I was unsure and didn't want to argue this point. They also tried to charge me more for the room than what my reservation said. This I did argue about and then I was charged the correct amount. All in all I was very, very disappointed in this hotel and would never stay here again nor would I recommend it to anyone else
