Allegra - Kloten, Switzerland 

You cannot go wrong. Free airport shuttle. Fast check in. Ample room especially the quad. Very clean bathrooms and beds. Rail station directly behind hotel. Supermarket across street. Restaurants within walking distance. 15 min train ride to downtown Zurich. Stay away from their sister hotels Fly Away and Welcome Inn. Buy a four day family pass at the rail station and travel anywhere within Swiss System. This includes free bus and boat transport as well as 50 perc off on cable cars to top of mountains. Convert your money there at SBB rail station and most cases you will not get charged commission fee especially if you show your pass. Do not convert at airports or banks due bad rates and fees.

I was very pleased with our quick one-night stay here at Hotel Allegra. We arrived from the airport, and the shuttle to the hotel is fairly fast, and free. Check-in was fast and painless, and there are two quick elevators. Our quad room was #440 (I'm pretty sure), and was absolutely fantastic. It was by far the biggest quad room we had on our Europe trip, not to mention one of the least expensive. The bathroom is very nice, split into a shower section, a toilet section, and the sink all separated from each other (something our family really likes). The room also has several neat full length mirrors, and windows facing north and east. After we settled in, we decided to take a quick afternoon tour on our own in Zurich. Despite this hotel being close to the airport, not exactly in downtown, it is situated a stone's throw away from a train station, which has fast and inexpensive trains that go downtown every half hour. Like other reviews have said, you really can't go wrong with this hotel.
