Casa Sol Hotel - Budapest, Hungary     

Just returned from a very good stay at this hotel that just fell short of an excellent four-star status it claims. Arrived quite late using the airport mini bus service that had suddenly removed its cheaper return ticket fare (no one knew why). Given room/apartment at the front on 6th floor, and was grateful as any lower the traffic noise even with the double glazed windows would have been too annoying when trying to sleep. Suggest requesting a room at the very quiet rear if you can. The room itself was excellent with full bathroom, kitchen and the biggest bed I’ve ever slept in, all exactly as displayed on the web site, even small bottles of complimentary wine & water. Strangely the room contained no utensils,pans,cups etc but were handed to you on request by the very helpful staff. However not all rooms are air conditioned and this was one of them as well as the dining room and even in September it was on the edge of uncomfortable. I was told that the air conditioning company had let them down and the entire hotel should have had full air-conditioning before the start of the season and it would be fully installed for 2008. The breakfast was fantastic with choices of juice, cereal, fruit, yoghurts, meats, cheese, cakes, etc with wonderful bread The hotel is located just outside the centre but there is a bus stop just outside No's 9,83 , main route trams No's 4,6 10mins walk or walk to the banks of the Danube in 25mins.The area like most east European cities is a bit run down with quite a lot of graffiti but I found the locals very friendly and helpful going out of their way to help a lost soul. All in all you would be very hard pressed to beat the quality / value

Las habitaciones son fantásticas. Muy amplias, decoradas de modo sencillo y con gusto y bien equipadas: una tele con unos pocos canales, un sofá para relajarse, una mesa, despertador, cocina y nevera. Al llegar estaba esperándonos en la habitación un benjamín de espumoso húngaro (todo un detalle). Las habitaciones tienen climatizador, que además está lo suficientemente alejado de la cama como para refrescar la habitación y que no de el frío directo. El baño está muy bien, en la línea de la habiatción. El desayuno está muy bien, es un buffet con suficiente variedad, tal vez se eche en falta algo más de comida caliente. El hotel es entero de no fumadores, sólo se puede fumar en una terraza trasera. Hay WI-FI en las habitaciones, al menos hasta el tercero, que fue donde estuve yo, también en la sala del desayuno y en la terraza trasera. Tomarte unas cervezas o unas coca-colas era muy barato, más o menos un euro por consumición. Se echa de menos que no tenga cocina por si el día que llegas lo haces tarde, no hay nada para comer en el hotel (salvo el desayuno, claro) A pesar de estar un poco alejado del centro (algo menos de 1/2 hora andando) está justo al lado de la parada de bus y trolebus. El personal es muy amable y en todo momento trata de ayudarte.
