Great Hotel for business & leisure travellers

I stayed at Novotel Budapest Danube for 5 nights, the location is great and suitable for both business & leisure travellers. I definately will stay at this hotel again!

my hungarian friend told me this novotel has the best location among the 3novotels in budapest if your primary goal is to sight see. I must say the location is excellent. It is near supermarket, subway station, walking distance to pest and other main sights like paliament.. etc. However, the staff at the reception are so unpleasant especially the ladies... so rude and unwilling to answer quiries about getting from point A to point B. It makes me wonder why they are still stil working there if they are so unhappy. To make things worse, i made my booking with hotels.com and had called their toll free tel no to ask if the price includes breakfast since it was not stated on the internet. They said yes but when i was in the novotel, i was told i had to pay additional for the breakfast. Nevertheless, the room is nice, hotel in an excellent location and i would stay here again if i know i do not need any other services from d hotel apart from a place to stay for the night.

Excellent location within walking distance (20 minutes uphill!) of the Castle district, Margaret Island, the Chain Bridge. Newish facilities so everything works including in-room Internet access, good plumbing etc. Nice views across the river from Parliament , but have to pay extra for river view. Limited good restaurants within short walking distance - need to go across to Pest side or uphill.

Modern, Clean and Central - Good Choice

We stayed at the Novotel Danube 2nd to 6th July 2008. We arrived quite late but kitchen managed to sort out a really nice sandwich. The room was just ideal, modern and very clean. The staff were polite and helpful and spoke very good English. The real bonus is the location, right next to the Danube, overlooking parliament and only a few minutes walk from the tram, train, underground and buses. There's also a really useful small shopping centre just around the corner. The only downside was the cost of breakfast which wasn't included in the Expedia deal. Continental style breakfast 8 euros but the full buffet breakfast was 17 Euros. We just bought a croissant from the local shop.
