We have just returned from a three night break at the Andrassy.The Hotel was situated on one of Budapest's most elegant streets.Its location was excellent not right in the centre but only a 25 minute walk or there was a metro stop just a couple of minutes from the Hotel door,which we found very easy to use,also its just a 10 minute walk from Hero's square and a lovely park.The rooms were were bright and spotlessly clean,the staff so very friendly and we were made so very welcome from the moment we arrived.The buffet breakfast was A1 something for every one.You must go to the restaurant Gundel which is only 10 minutes away next to Hero's square.Lovely atmosphere,excellent food and service a little pricey but well worth it.Also vist the Ruszwurm cafe close to the Palace,lovely little place with a fantastic choice of cakes to die for. We would definitly stay at the Andrassy Hotel again cannot recommend it enough.

This hotel isn&#39;t in the centre of town, but is very close to Bajza Utca metro station, which is only 10 minutes ride from the riverside cafes of Pest, and 2 minutes from the Heroe&#39;s square and Gulden&#39;s restaurant. Fabulous clean hotel with very helpful staff.<br>The only drawbacks are that breakfast is not included and expensive at 20 euros each. We always took the metro down town to Vorosmarty Square for breakfast, there are plenty of places there for breakfast at less than half the cost. Don&#39;t bother with the mini - bar unless you have a bottomless wallet. Everything else about the place is absolutely faultless, you&#39;ll enjoy your stay there - we certainly did.

Decent - Not Great!

Decent clean hotel, with a very good location. A high quality restaurant off the lobby. The room was OK, but it was pretty warm when we were there and the air-conditioning barley keeps up. I can't understand the European aversion to decent air-conditioning. I guess Europeans don't mind being "ripe". In any event, I would recommend the hotel at any time in the year when you are unlikely to have hot weather. By the way, all of the five star ratings given by other readers baffle me. In the states this would be an average Holiday Inn quality hotel, but it seems in Europe a clean room with a decent bathroom and air-conditioning (even if it barely keeps up) warrants five stars..
