Fantastic reasonably priced hotelPosted: Mon, Nov 23 2009Value:
3Situated on the Buda side of the river, it is right where the steps take you up to the Royal Palace. It is also very close to the Chain Bridge, the Fishermen's Bastion and other interesting sights. The location is A1! The hotel was in good condition and was warm enough to not need the heater turned on in the room. This was in March with day temperatures of about 12 degrees, with cold rain and wind. Interesting old prints of Budapest lined the corridors. The people at reception were friendly and helpful. The breakfast room was clean, bright and spacious and the buffet breakfast (included in price) was varied and pretty good, although they were the same on the 3 mornings I was there. A very good range of tea and coffee were offered. The room was spacious enough with all amenities, including a safe, and tea making. Linen was clean. There was no evening dinning at the hotel but there were a selection of restaurants very close by. A nice feature was an automatic shoe cleaner/polisher at the entrance, which was most useful after a day of trudging in the rain and dirt. Internet access was free at an alcove in the foyer. For the price I paid through GTAHotels, it was very good value for money - better than in Paris or Madrid.
