Good location, close to river Danube and a number of bars and restaurants. Rooms are basic with no bath, just a shower. Breakfast was awful.

Just got back from Budapest and stayed here for three nights. It was a last minute trip and most other places were fully booked so in spite of reading the previous posters' reviews, we made reservations here. We heard no noise and had no problems sleeping in the night. With day temperatures of 38degCelcius, the air-conditioning was great. It was what you'd expect from a budget 3-* best western. But it was comfortable and the location was really good. Walking distance to the river and Kalvin Ter metro stop as well as trams and buses. Bed was a little hard and the pillows were quite flat but a quick look around found two more pillows in the cupboard and they were better.

The perfect location

The hotel is in the Pest side of town, very near the Danube and walking distance from all public transport. It is also very near a lot of nice cafes and restaurants and five minutes walk from the fantastic Central Market. The hotel staff were especially friendly and helpful. Although located in a side street, the rooms facing the street are not as calm as one might expect, especially after 2 in the morning when the cafes let go of their happy and singing drinkers. Paying cash, and in Euros, we also managed to get a substantial discount on the bill (but we were there off season – from 15th to 20th March). Sauna and safe free of charge. Not grand, but comfortable! Gilbert
