Beautiful room

I was in Budapest for work and booked this hotel for myself and a colleague because it was near the office we needed to go to for our meetings and it was a good price. However, I was delighted with our choice. My room was enormous and absolutely beautiful. My colleague's was not quite so amazing but was still good. Breakfast was very nice and the staff were polite and helpful. Location also good, and not just for boring office meetings - there are plenty of good bars and restaurants in the area. Strongly recommend this hotel.

Good budget accomodation

My wife, daughter and myself stayed at the Kalvin House during a city break in Aug 06 and found it to be excellent value for money. The hotel is very centrally situated and within walking distance of most of the main attraction. The hotel is very impressive once you are inside and our room was very big with lots of old fashion furniture. The staff were very friendly and informative when asked. Budapest is a beautiful city, probably my favourite city in Europe. I'm looking forward to my next visit. Warning it gets very hot in the summer but when it rains its like a monsoon. The coffee house are a must.

Very Good Value for Money

Just returned from a 3 night stay at this hotel. Got a great deal from Expedia and thought we'd take a chance after reading the reviews on this site. Very good hotel for the money. had one of the 'new' rooms on the 4th floor with lovely walk in shower. Breakfast (Continental) adequate but there are so many great restaurants and coffee houses in the city that we weren't that bothered about the range of food served. Good location for sightseeng and restaurants and we were happy to walk everywhere. If you are looking for luxury then this isn't the place for you; but, if you want somehere central, clean and in a safe area then this is the place. Will stay here again the next time I visit Budapest.
