5We just came back from a 5-nights stay at the Ibis Hotel Heroes Square Budapest and want to share our satisfaction with this hotel.
The Ibis are a "low cost" hotel chain, but this doesn't mean that you have to give up on the cleanliness of the rooms. What you don't get are some services like minibar and room service. But if you can live without them, Ibis are the perfect choice!
We booked the Ibis Heroes Square not only because we got an excellent rate of 50 euros per night (breakfast excluded, you can buy it on the spot for 8 euros/person, but we chose to buy pastries on the nearby food stores) but also because this is one of the first Ibis with the new look of the rooms (new bed linens, wooden floors, new bathrooms, LCD TVs).
As long time Ibis customers we were very curious about this new look and we weren't disappointed! For the price of a "low cost" hotel, the stay is now much more comfortable! We felt like being in a lot more expensive hotel and we enjoyed every minute of our stay!
The hotel is located right on the beautiful Heroes Square, 2 minutes walk from the metro station. The famous Paprika Restaurant (absolutely recommended!) is a 10 minutes walk, as the Szechenyi Baths. Vaci Utca and the Chain Bridge are a 30 minutes walk away along beautiful Andrassy Utca. If you like to spend your nights in pubs and discos, this hotel might be a bit out of the action, but if you like more to rest in a quiet part of town after a long day of sightseeing, this is the place for you!
Absolutely recommended!
