Nice Little Hotel

Stayed at Hotel Gold for 3 nights in September 2006 - very nice little hotel. Our room was ok for our length of stay. Very clean and we had a TV with statalite, good wardrobe space and nice bathroom although a little cramped. The hotel is a little bit out of town but you can hop on the 74A trolley bus to the Mexico metro station and get straight into the city in about 20 minutes as connections are good. Budapest is really loverly and we were lucky to have hot sunny wheather to stroll around in. A big highlight is the castle district and Margeret Island is worth seeing. We visited there on a boat trip up the Danube which was excellent. No stay at hotel Gold is worth it without visiting the nearby Trofea Grill which is an all you eat and drink buffet - heavan! Champers included in the price ( about £8.00 per head) too! Go on - go for gold in Budapest!

The people at this hotel were so welcoming and the breakfast which was included was excellant. For some reason I was able to hear others in their room from my bathroom but since the hotel wasn't that busy I didn't have to contend with much noise. It is a little way from the city center but a short bus ride caught a few feet from the hotel took you right there. I would go back again especially now that I know their bus system :o)

Me hospedé en el hotel Gold de Budapest cuatro noches de octubre y mi experiencia allí no fue tan buena como la expresada en las críticas que se muestran aquí. Me pareció que estaba demasiado lejos del centro (aunque hay un tranvía al volver la esquina) y muy ruidoso, no sólo por el tremendo ruido que producían las tuberías del agua cada vez que el "vecino" se duchaba o tiraba de la cadena pero también cuando los clientes se reunían por la noche en el vestíbulo (incluso pasada la media noche) y hablaban en alto. Al contrario de lo que han dicho otras personas, el desayuno además de ser bastante malo, escaso y de poca calidad (el pan parecía del día anterior), después de las nueve de la mañana las mesas del comedor estaban prácticamente vacías.
