"Great City, Great Hotel"

We have just returned from Budapest, staying there for our honeymoon. The Hotel Helia is first class.It is in a quiter area, but still only a 10-15 minute walk to the main centre. Our room overlooked the danube and Margeret Island. The rooms were spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The staff were very welcoming on our arrival and were always willing to help. Most of the staff speak reasonably good english. The food was superb. We did not have a chance to use the spa facilities, swimming pool, sauna and solarium are all included. Also lack of time meant we were unable to use the wellness centre, but I can say the prices are very good. A whole body aromatherapy massage works out about ?30. There are lots of treatments to choose from all at a reasonable price. We had dinner in our room on the first night and breakfast in the room the next morning and raided the minibar also! The total cost for all this was about ?28. We got a very good deal on this hotel through Easyjet. I would reccomend it to anyone wanting a top class hotel for a short break in the wonderful city of Budapest.

Gladly recommend this location. Everything was superlative, starting from accommodation, breakfast and SPA. The only drawback noticed, was not related to poor ventilation in the bathroom. We return to this hotel with pleasure.

This large hotel is located in a transitional area, but felt safe walking in the neighborhood at night. The room we stayed in was small, but comfortable and well equipped, clean, none-smoking, although the floor was not designated as such -- same problem everywhere where you go in H. The thermal facilities are clean, well maintained, but basic. There was a situation that my daughter got into at the thermal bath: a lady (a guest, maybe a spa customer from the neighborhood?) reminded her in a rude manner that she should not wear her long hair hanging down. This was surprising, because there were no signs posted to do so. She also complained to the attendant -- resulting the man offering a nylon cap and a scrunchie, with a smile though. We still found this offending, but I guess that a loose hair might be a local no-no in this city with many thermal and public baths and culture. This hotel might not be a good choice for families with kids wanting to use the pools.
