The Regent Esplanade Zagreb details:
Built in 1925 in fashionable Art Nouveau style, the modernised Regent Esplanade in central Zagreb, just 100 metres from the station, retains the atmosphere of a grand, distinguished hotel. Soft colour schemes contrast with bold lines and highly polished furniture in mahogany and walnut echo early 20th century design in the contemporary guestrooms. Marble bathrooms come with bathrobes and slippers and all rooms have wireless Internet connection, three telephones, minibars and satellite television.
At hotel's heath and fitness centre, guests can indulge in massages, relax in the sauna and steam room and work out in the fully equipped gym. The bar and lounge provide a space for relaxing with international daily papers, enjoying leisurely afternoon teas, or working on line, thanks to wireless Internet access throughout the entire building. With high ceilings, soft lighting and crisp white table linen, the restaurant offers contemporary, international cuisine at lunch and dinner while local fare is on the menu in the Art Nouveau inspired bistro. Round the clock room service means that guests can enjoy meals and drinks in the comfort of their rooms at all hours. The concierge can provide tour information and help book tickets and facilities for business guests include meeting and conference rooms and computer rental. Those arriving by car can take advantage of on site secure valet parking. Zagreb's central attractions are within easy reach of the hotel either on foot or via the city's bus and tram network. The art gallery and theatre are within 500 metres with the Cathedral and main square are about a kilometre away. Pleso airport is 18 kilometres and a 30 minute journey away.

It is with good reason that this property is rated among the best hotels in the world. The staff is cordial - not friendly nor cold, which is in line with the professional atmosphere the hotel seeks to project. You will be welcomed by professionals and not Thai smiles, which some people seem to be put off by. But if you look closely, you will see that thier attitude is in line with thier dignified image. My room was not large but had enough room for a desk as well as a sitting chair and table, besides the queen size bed. The bed and indeed, the whole room was well decorated with quality, from the marble bathrooms (with shower on one side and bath on the other - while the room wasn't large, the bathroom is large) to the carpets. The restaurant is excellent although their isn't a large selection. In the immediate vicinity to the hotel are endless restaurants, so go out and enjoy them. Top down, a great hotel. The only items that I noticed, if I have to be picky, is the TV is old; you might expect in a property like this to have and LCD TV with PayTV channels. However, I rarely turn my TV on, so it really doesn't bother me. Second, A/C is central, as you will find most everywhere throughout the Balkans. Sorry to say, but you will be hard pressed to find individual A/C controls anywhere. Therefore, temperature can vary widely through the hotel, so make sure you ask for a room that makes sence for you - if you like your room 25C as many people do in some parts of the world, the top floor is best in the winter. If you ask them when you make your reservation, they should be able to guide you to a room you will enjoy. This is perhaps my biggest piece of advice when traveling in the Balkans - ask about AC for when you are arriving. I personally like my rooms cold while I sleep with many blankets and I usually find the hotels very helpful when ask about it in advance.

This hotel reeks of luxury from the moment you walk in. While staying there on business, I had the pleasure of spending an evening at this stunning hotel.
Everything about this hotel reminds you that you are staying at a 5-star hotel. Amenities are fantastic and the bathroom makes you want to shower and bathe 3-5 times a day.
Centrally located, quiet and a great place to stay to make your stay in Zagreb comfortable and enjoyable.
