This hotel is perched on the hill overlooking the charming little seaside village of Jablanac. You drive into the village on a one way road and make your way past the ferry point through the town and up the hill the other side where you park your car behind the hotel. After buzzing someone from reception comes down and lets you in the back door. This is a large hotel with long 'red' carpeted corridors - a wee bit spooky like something out of an Alfred Hitchock movie. We appeared to be two of four guests. How do I know this? The next morning at breakfast there was 4 of everything available. There was noone to be seen at the hotel only staff so we quickly made our way down to the village where we sat at a small cafe/restaurant and watched the ferries go in and out while we supped on a local white wine. We enjoyed the peacefulness so much we stayed on and had dinner there as well. Back at the hotel, everything remained very very quiet. The room was OK, but overnight a gale blew up and the hotel creaked and the wind howled all night. Breakfast was a laugh and not entirely palatable. Soft boiled eggs which had obviously been cooked about an hour earlier and left cold runny yolk all over the plate. Consequently we opted for fresh bread and jam. The only teas were fruit ones or green tea - no English breakfast available here. However the charming little village of Jablanac made up for all of this.
