The Palace hvar address: Pjaca b.b., Hvar, 21450

The Palace hvar details: The oldest hotel in Hvar, framed by the st. Stephens Cathedral on the one side and the famous Hvar theatre on the other, Hotel Palace is surrounded by gothic and renaissance architecture. Guest rooms overlook the Piazza, the largest square in Dalmatia, and feature breathtaking views over Hvar's bay and the sunsets over the Paklinski islands. While staying at this historic hotel, guests can enjoy a delicious supper and sip cocktails while listening to classical jazz bands on the terrace.

As the oldest hotel in Hvar, The Palace - Hvar provides romantic views of the ancient piazza and neighboring buildings such as St. Stephen’s Cathedral, as well as glorious sunsets over the bay.

The hotel itself, built at the turn of the twentieth century, has graciously aged charm and character that mirrors that of the island itself. Guests can dine to the snap and strum of live ensembles on the Palm Restaurant terrace overlooking the yacht harbor. From the Adriatic ambience and the ancient architecture to the live bands, everything at The Palace is classic.

Location

Conde Nast Traveller magazine has elected the island of Hvar one of the ten most beautiful islands in the world. However, there are no words that can adequately describe it, one can only experience it. It is an experience as sunsational as only Hvar gets.

Hvar is synonymous with leisure itself. No matter how many days you choose to spend here it will not be enough.
Join vibrant cafes in the morning, find solitude on the isoleted beaches across the Hvar bay, shine at bar beach parties, share dinner with friends, follow the dress code of excitement for the Hvar night.

Dining

San Marco, venetian terrace, is arguably the most grandiose in the Adriatic. This beautifully ornamented terrace floats above the famous Pjaca, which is second in size only to the Piazza San Marco in Venice. A combination of unique Venetian architecture, starry nights and bluesy jazz crooning circa 1935 will put a smile on your face and a subtle swing in your step. Throw in fine dining and the soft glow of yachts in the bay, and the state of bliss may well be irreversible.

The Palm Restaurant and Arsenal Bar, located on a spacious terrace at The Palace Hotel, has become well known for its classy live bands, outstanding harbour-front ambience and its quality food and drink.

The Palace Hotel is the oldest hotel on Hvar and it shows. It is part of the Suncani Hvar chain who have revamped the other major hotels in town recently and is due to be done up once this summer season ends. For now it remains a good budget choice as its location in the centre of town cannot be beaten. At about ?70 a night it's a bargain in terms of being able to stay stumbling distance from Carpe Diem. However the toilet was unreliable, blocking several times, there's no air con (and you can't have the windows open - this is a party island and you're in the middle of it all) and hardly any of the plug sockets worked. The breakfast also was woeful, pathetic amount of food and a coffee machine which didn't really work. Once the Palace had been refurbed I'm certain it will be lovely, but it will be beyond the reach of my budget if the other Suncani Hvar hotels are anything to go by. Go now while it's cheap and be willing to put up with the problems.

We made a booking at another hotel on Hvar through Expedia and when we arrived in Hvar the hotel we were booked in was closed. Thank goodness we had a local reservation phone number and a cell phone. When we called, we found out that the hotel we were booked at was not open yet for the summer season and we were re-booked at the Palace Hotel. We were told we should have been contacted about the situation. We are not sure if it was the hotel or Expedia who should have contacted us, but either way it turned out fine. Due to the confusion of our reservation, The Palace Hotel definitely took care of us. The hotel gave us a junior suite with a balcony and amazing views of the harbor. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was quite good. It was a full breakfast with eggs, meat, cheeses, bread, yogurt, fruit and cereal. After a rocky start, our stay in Hvar and at The Palace Hotel was a wonderful experience.
