"Highly recommend Eaton Hotel" Posted: Mon, Nov 23 2009

Stayed at the Eaton two nights end of January. Small but nicely furnished rooms, great shower/bath, beautiful swimming pool on roof. Nice exercise room, but did find elipitical machine not working. Other equipment all worked fine. Staff very accomadating, everybody polite and helpful. Within a couple of blocks of Temple street and Jade markets. Subway also within two blocks. E club worth extra price, I was picked up at the airport in a luxury bus, very nice happy hour and breakfast. Will stay here again if I return to Hong Kong.
The rooms are incredibly small, old and worn out. The plumbing works sporadically. Staff is friendly, but the front desk service is slow. You will be charged for internet service. Food at the hotel is very good but very expensive. Other hotels nearby offer much better value for the same money.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Eaton Hotel for a week in late November 2007. We were originally booked at another hotel, but changed when we looked at the location of the Eaton as well as some of the good reviews it had received.
The location couldn't have been better. We were litterally a 2 minute walk to the start of the temple street night markets, and were surrounded by little restuarants, and of course plenty of jewelry stores.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had a corner room, which was very spacious and featured floor to ceiling windows, with some lovely views of the city.
Our room entitled us to Club Access, and we were very impressed. Was nice to be able to relax with a drink and a snack after a long day - definitely worth the little extra.
The room itself was always cleaned very well, and the staff were very attentive. The only negative was that the bed was extrememly hard and the pillows very very soft, although this seemed to be a trend in North Asia.
The general hotel facilities were well maintained and the staff were very courteous and helpful with taxis, sightseeing, tailors, etc. The restaurants were also very nice, and the dim sum on the lower floor was some of the best I have had.
I would not hesitate in returning to the Eaton, and can recommend for anyone looking for a good 4 star hotel.
