Comfortable hotel in Hong Kong

Regal Hotel was a good experience. It was part of the package we bought along with the tickets, to save some money (and spend it shopping in Hong Kong!!!) Located in Hong Kong island, next to Victoria Park it was comfortable and clean. The location was very close to trams and subway station ( Causeway Bay ). Causeway Bay is a very animated area, plenty of buzz, shops and restaurants. The hall was grandiose, a little on the tacky side, with chandeliers and always buzzing with activity. Allow me to invent a word "Trumpesque" (I have been a tad too much in Atlantic City, I am afraid...) The staff was friendly and a lot of different services were offered, like massage and fitness center, as well as a terrific swimming pool in the last floor with a great view of Hong Kong! They had a good buffet for breakfast with Cantonese and continental food, from noodles and dim sum to cereal, fruit, bacon, eggs and omelettes cooked on the spot with the toppings of choice. Our room was big enough to be comfortable for two weeks, with a desk and extra seat. In the bathroom, we had a nice round sunk bathtub where I took a dip as soon as I arrived ! :) So, overall, a good experience for a stay of two weeks :)

WARNING "IN ROOM MINI BAR / EVIAN MINERAL WATER"

As a business traveler who aways travel staying at the different hotel around the world this case is the worst. I have just returned from REGAL HONG KONG after checked out I return to the reception desk for some inquiry where I was told, there is mini bar bill that has not been paid. I was quite surprise as I didn’t touch anything, but I was told that I had open two bottle of EVIAN WATER and the bill is around HK$120. I asked whether I can see the actual bottle that I was accused of opening. For the second time I was shock to see two bottle of EVIAN still “FULL” BUT THE SEAL CAP WAS ALREADY BROEKEN. was speech less. This scam made me look like a fool or a low life who drank the Evain water and have it filled back with tap water. After a long battle with the reception employee I was told that I don’t have to pay, which surely I won’t. But anyway, it had made me look very low life in front of the people nearby. WATCH OUT!!!!!!!

My sister and myself stayed for 5 nights in this hotel. Despite the hiccup during the check-in process, we got a nice room that is quite large (by HK standard) with a queen's bed. It is definitely a plus with the free shuttle service thru/fro HK International Airport. The location is great as it is within 5 mins walk to MTR and along the way and within the vicinity (if you do venture/circle far), you can easily find food and they are quite reasonable. We tried breakfast, lunch, dinner and supper (~ 10pm) there and truly enjoyed them. Our varities range from porridge, egg tart, dim sum, noodles to goose meat rice! Most, if not all, shops surrounding the area opens quite late into night, so you can do late night shopping too, however this depends what you are looking for. Surely recommend staying here if I visit HK again.
