5Having just returned from Hong Kong for a weeks vacation, I would like to say my stay at the Island Pacific was great but...The rooms we had were way too small!. The was was very friendly and helpful, and went out of the way to make your stay enjoyable. After arriving at the hotel at 11PM local time after a 16 hour flight, we were assigned room 815, upon entering the room we were in a state of shock to find 2 twin beds in a room no larger then 10' by 10'. The next morning we requested a room change and assigned to Room 1816, which was a bit bigger. about 10' x 14' excluding the bathroom. We grew accustumed to the room. But the staff more then made up for it. Pleasant and helpful
The hotel offers a all you can eat breakfast for $140HK doillars or approx. $20 US dollars. It was very nice.
This hotel is very easy to get to, 1 block away from the Kennedy Town tramp line and several bus lines including the number 973 bus which goes directly to Stanley Market. This bus is a gtreat way to tour island on the cheap!
If you are planning a stay in Hong Kong and don't mind the lack of space then the Island Pacific is ok to stay, but if you need more space then another hotel maybe of more interest to you or a more western style hotel.
The fitness equipment needs updating. The outmoted treadmil, eliptical and bike all seem more window dressing then for actual use.
