Perle Resort Hotel & Health Spa Marine address: B.P. 268, Stavros, 73100

Perle Resort Hotel & Health Spa Marine details: The traditional countryside of the beautiful Akrotiri-peninsula with its quiet sandy beaches is the surrounding of the recently built “Perle Resort Hotel & Health SPA Marine”, some 17 kms from Chania - the most beautiful town in Crete with a picturesque Venetian harbour.

Perle also places you 2 kms from the nearest beach Stavros which was the scene for the making of the famous film “Zorbas the Greek”. Stavros is a sea-side village with some supermarkets & shops, bars and taverns. You may consider hiring a car for a few days to give you the independence to visit Chania and explore the area at your leisure.

Definitely not your ‘run of the mill’ holiday resort, the accent at Perle is on elegance, relaxation and well-being with an amazing on-site Spa complex which covers an area of 6300 square meters.

Needless to say that guests find it hard to resist the chance to indulge in the variety of beauty treatments available at the ‘Perle Roi” Health Spa Marine. Thalassotherapy, hydro massages and kinesiotherapy are just a few of the treatments. However, the choice is big enough to have various one, two, three and six day programmes. Facilities at the hotel are excellent and plentiful with everything ranging from tempting dining options to a great children’s club. As expected, it is stylish and well-appointed.

I traveled to Crete in October to meet up with my husband who has been away since July as part of the NATO fleet. We had an amazing time at the Perle. The main areas of the hotel are beautiful. The pool was great. I guess we were in the off season so it was pretty quiet. We did have some Dutch army there for a couple days but hardly noticed they were there. I did have to fight a bit to get a double bed. I will never understand this European thing with two twin beds. We are not Fred and Wilma Flintstone :-). I did get a double bed after switching rooms three times. The room we had was quite spacious and had a nice size balcony over looking the water. The bathroom was a nice size as well. The bed was fairly comfortable as well. The staff was amazing, with the exception of one woman at the front desk. Guess she didn't like my changes of room but I like to get what I pay for :-) The staff at the bar and at the restaurant were great. They were very friendly and would often come by and sit and chat with us before their shift. There were a group of us who traveled over together that stayed at the hotel and the staff had a great time with us. Even came to the bar after their shifts to hang out with us. I think the fact that we are all so friendly to them made the difference. What can I say, we Canadians are known for that. We even exchanged emails with a few of them. The food was also great. None of us had a bad meal. There were 10 couples staying at the hotel so if all of us thought the food was good that is saying something. There was entertainment two nights we were there. One night they had a caberet show and another night they had Cretean dancers. They pulled people up from the crowd and got us dancing. It was a lot of fun. The hotel is a bit out of the way so if you want the night life of the town this is probably not the place for you. However we wanted to relax and have a little quiet time. There are buses you can take in to town but we chose a cab. Came to around 17-20 Euros one way. The town of Chania was a lot of fun and had some good shopping. We also took a day trip to Samira Gorge. We didn't hike it but it was a beautiful view. Over all I would definitely go back to the Perle. If you are there say hi to Helen and Pannos from their Canadian friends.
