Kintore Arms Hotel - Inverurie, United Kingdom 

Due to a mix up in reservations, my Fiance and I were without a hotel in Aberdeen the night before we were to fly home. The B&B we were supposed to stay at recommended Inverurie as a possible solution. We drove there and the first property we saw was the Kintore Arms Hotel. We were happy to have found a room so quickly and upon cursory examination it appeared sufficient for a short stay. When it was time to have a shower I noticed mold growing on the bottom of the wall in the stall. Okay, I can live with that for a short shower. I turned the shower on and went to get a towel and my toiletry bag. In that short time the water was almost flowing over the lip of the shower stall. The drain was entirely clogged with hair. I went to the front desk and explained the problem and since they did not have anyone to fix it, changed our room. This room had a brand new tub, but it was poorly installed. Still, too tired to find another hotel (we had a 4 am start the next morning) we said it would do. When I went to have my shower, I noticed the detachable shower head was left hanging into the tub. I put it back and found it was filthy. Obviously it was not changed when the tub was. My Fiance and I just decided to go without a shower. To add insult to injury, I kept hearing this noise that sounded like a turbine engine starting up. It appears the toilet had some kind of waste grinder and every time water went through it, it would activate. Unfortunately, the shower head leaked, so this unit would activate every 30-40 minutes whenever enough water collected in it. It was a sleepless night for me, and I think we would have been better off sleeping in our car. A very disappointing ending to a wonderful trip. I will say though that the front desk staff were very friendly and did their best.

Pub-Auberge bien situé prés du centre ville d'Inverrurie, proche d'Aberdeen et du Nord Ouest de l'Ecosse et de ses distilleries. Personnel acceuillant et chambre tout à fait correctes. Dans la trés bonne moyenne de ce que nous avons rencontrés en Ecosse. Là aussi problème de lit supplémentaire non pret lors de notre arrivée (problème de reservation de la part de l'agence de voyage ??) La restauration est correcte sans plus.
