"Good Stay"

This hotel is in a good location for visiting athens. It is walking distance to most tourist attractions and close to the subway for futher attractions. The rooms in this hotel are clean. It reminds me of a New York studio hotel with a nice bed and washroom. It has no gym and no pool. The elevators are a problem here as they can only hold 2 people, they are the smallest elevators I have been in in my life. So you mainly need to take the stairs. Breakfast is decent here. I would tell you how the staff were, but I never had to talk to them, which was a good sign. Good value stay, I would stay here again.

"Perfectly good hotel"

Nice clean hotel within walking distance from Omonia metro. Yes the lifts are a bit small, but there are 2 so not really the end of the world. The important stuff for us was that the room was a reasonable size, the bed comfortable and large, the bathroom okay (hand held showers not being that unusual on our visits to Greece). The staff appeared to be perfectly pleasant. Very near some good, cheap eating places, Rozalia being our favourite. Also very close to the archaeological museum. A bit of a walk to the Parthenon etc, but easy to get the metro. Good breakfast.

After having stayed in quite a few budget hotels, the Kaningos 21 was a pleasant surprise. Quite a "modern" hotel. The room was quite large, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom had a full sized tub and it was relatively sound proof. At the Kaningos we had the best hotel breakfast and dinner of our 9 day tour of Greece. The front desk still needs to shape up when it comes to customer service. One of our students forgot her iPod charger in the room and when I called to inquire, the clerk at the front desk was quite rude. The area is a little seedy. You're only a couple blocks away from Omonia Square. I wouldn't recommend going out by yourself at night by any means. But in a group, I think you're relatively safe.
