Hotel Achilleas - Athens, Greece 

"Great Central Location!"

A friend and I shared a twin room here in October 2006. We thought the hotel was easy to find, it's located near to Syntagma Square where you can easily get buses, trams and trains. All the sights are within easy walking distance. We didn't find the location to be at all noisy as the hotel was located off a side street. I'd say the hotel offers fairly basic but comfortable accommodation. The shower door was broken, but the shower itself was not so we managed ok! I was impressed with the cleanliness of the room and bathroom - and I'm hard to please. There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room which was a disappointment as I don't like to face the public on a morning til I've had my cup of tea :-) Breakfast was a self selection of DIY toast, jams, bread, scrambled eggs, hot dog type sausages, ham, cheese, fruit, cereal, fruit juices and tea/coffee. The lady in charge of breakfast was a bit ferocious if you made a bit of a mess - watch out for her!! All in all, I'd recommend it, after all there are so many things to see in Athens, you'll spend hardly any time in your room anyway, so we found it value for money.

Good City Centre Location

Fresh decor and nice sized air conditioned room. We had a 4-bed room for the family for a short (2 night) stopover) which was nicer than expected. The hotel is a stone's throw from the tourist area of Plaka and located equidistant between metro stations at Monastiriki and Syntagma. Overall a pleasant stay.

Great location

Decent clean hotel with nice new furnishings and spacious rooms. Very good location in Athens but also quite noisy on friday and saturday nights. We stayed with our baby though and she slept fine! Smelt like cigarette smoke (but where in Athens doesn't?) and lift was too small for pram. Staff spoke English well and were very friendly and helpful.
