Electra Hotel Athens - Athens, Greece 

My husband and I stayed at the Electra for the first leg of our honeymoon. The location cannot be beat for tourists with little time in Athens! The proximity to the Plaka district, the Acropolis as well as the metro made our few short days in Athens not feel rushed. Our double room was VERY small but spotless. Once our two suitcases were on the floor, there was barely room to move. The bathroom was cramped even for one person, but again spotless, well-maintained and well stocked. Our only complaint were the very loud children in the room next to us, that screamed at all hours of the day. The soundproofing seemed somewhat lacking. Breakfast was a surprise! (I expected a basic continental breakfast, but the buffet includes that plus eggs, meats, fruit and fresh orange juice.) I would recommend this hotel, but don't expect palatial rooms.

A very nice property well placed close to the Metro rail station and also the Plaka. Be sure that you give the Taxi Driver the name of the Hotel and the address as there is another Electra Hotel in close proximity and only because we had stayed at this property previously that we knew we weren't at the correct place. Cost us a further $5 but he claimed we weren't clear on our directions. 24 hour desk which is great if you get in late. Rooms are all nicely appointed with most having a window out onto the plaza at the front of the hotel.
