"Good Location in Central Athens"Posted: Mon, Nov 23 2009Value:
3Stayed at the Titania on the first leg of a trip to the Greek islands. Two nights was about enough time for Athens. As mentioned by others, nice lobby, good location to major sites (and the subway), excellent buffet breakfast, rooms somewhat on the small side but comfortable (perhaps not for a week). Strongly suggest a meal at the roof top restaurant with a great view of the Acropolis at night. Food excellent. Sites to see include the Acropolis (best in early morning to avoid crowds); the plaka for shopping, restaurants, and gyros and greek salad; National Archeological Museum, a short walk or subway ride. The Hotel staff were always pleasant and accommodating. Athens, and most of Greece for that matter, was always safe to walk. A city that is always on the go, 8 milliion people, 2-3 days was plenty, and we will always have fond memories.
